Trent Jr. Secures Four-Year Deal to Stay with Bucks
TITLE: Trent Jr. Secures Four-Year Deal to Stay with Bucks
Gary Trent Jr. has officially committed to the Milwaukee Bucks, agreeing to a four-year contract valued at $64 million. The agreement was confirmed by Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul and agent Lucas Newton on Saturday.
The re-signing concludes negotiations that began after the NBA Finals in mid-June. While Trent Jr. had declined his player option in late June, speculation had been widespread that he would ultimately remain in Milwaukee.
ESPN insider Shams Charania reported that the Bucks and Trent Jr.’s representatives actively pursued a new deal, even exploring potential sign-and-trade scenarios with other interested teams in the week leading up to Saturday’s announcement.
This move solidifies Trent Jr.’s place with the Bucks, following a previous team-friendly contract that allowed him to gain Bird rights with the franchise.
