LeBron James, the NBA's all-time leading scorer and a four-time champion, announced on Friday his decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers for his 24th season. The 41-year-old superstar confirmed his intentions on social media, with reports indicating he signed a two-year contract valued at $8 million after earning $52.6 million in his previous season with the Los Angeles Lakers. James stated his motivation was a continued desire to compete and win championships, rather than financial gain or family considerations.
This significant move has immediately thrust the 76ers into the conversation for the 2027 NBA title.
