Ulsan's Lee Dong-gyeong, who recently earned his third K League Round MVP award, experienced a special reunion ahead of the Coupang Play Series. Lee met with Jeonbuk FC coach Jeong Jeong-yong, who will lead "Team K League" in an exhibition match against Manchester City on July 5th at Seoul World Cup Stadium.
During a press conference on July 4th, Coach Jeong revealed he had been holding onto a silver gift for Lee for nearly a year. The present, given by a fan, commemorated Lee’s K League regular season MVP performance last year. Jeong humorously remarked that he decided to give it to Lee as it held more sentimental value for the player.
Lee Dong-gyeong completed his military service with Gimcheon Sangmu in October of last year, having joined in April 2024 under Coach Jeong’s command. Upon returning to Ulsan, he finished last season as the K League 1’s top offensive contributor with 25 points, tallying 13 goals and 12 assists. Other notable K League 1 stars, including Incheon’s Mu-gosa, are also set to join Lee on Team K League.
