SSG Ends Losing Streak with Help from New International Talent
The SSG Landers snapped a four-game losing streak, defeating the Lotte Giants 7-3 in a road game at Busan Sajik Stadium on the 22nd. The victory was largely propelled by the contributions of two recently added international players.
Blay Madris, a temporary roster addition, made a significant impact with a home run and three hits. Madris, hailing from the island nation of Palau, represents the first player from his country to play in the KBO, a league where baseball enjoys considerable popularity in his homeland.
On the pitching side, Pedro Avila, another new international face for SSG, delivered a quality start. His performance, combined with Madris’s offensive output, proved crucial in securing the win against the Giants. The Lotte Giants’ starter, Park Se-woong, gave up five runs, contributing to his team’s inability to extend their winning streak to three games.
