KT Infielder Heo Gyeong-min Avoids Serious Injury After Headshot, Opponent Ejected

KT Wiz infielder Heo Gyeong-min was transported from the field by ambulance after being struck in the head by a pitch, but medical examinations revealed only a minor contusion. The incident occurred during the fourth inning of a game against NC Dinos on May 29th at Changwon NC Park.

Heo, batting sixth as the third baseman, was hit in the face by a 147 km/h two-seam fastball thrown by Dinos pitcher Curtis Taylor. The ball, thrown on a 1-ball, 1-strike count with one out and no runners on base, caused Heo to fall to the ground in pain. Taylor, visibly distraught, was subsequently ejected from the game due to the headshot, marking the 12th such ejection in the KBO League this season.

Following his removal from the game, Heo underwent a CT scan at a local hospital. Team officials confirmed the diagnosis of a simple contusion, noting that while Heo reported some dizziness, the symptoms were not cause for significant concern. The team plans to continue monitoring his condition. The game concluded with KT defeating NC by a score of 10-3.
