Brunson, the NBA Finals MVP, took center stage as the main event, entering the arena around 10:00 p.m. with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. The crowd erupted with cheers and chants of “MVP” and “Jalen Brunson,” acknowledging him as the “King of New York.” Brunson, sporting sunglasses and a brace on his left wrist from a recent surgery, was presented with a custom championship belt featuring blue and orange stripes, and fireworks illuminated the arena as he and Reigns performed a signature gesture.
The segment took an unexpected turn with the entrance of Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton, a rival of Brunson’s, who served as a distraction for Seth Rollins to attack Reigns. Brunson intervened, allowing Reigns to regain control and toss Rollins from the ring.
