Miami Heat veteran Bam Adebayo and former teammate Tyler Herro, recently traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, were involved in a physical confrontation on a Las Vegas practice court Friday morning. The incident reportedly occurred after Adebayo confronted Herro about critical remarks Herro had made on social media.
Witnesses at a gym within the Resorts World Casino described Adebayo approaching Herro, who then spoke to him, before Adebayo delivered a punch. Herro’s AAU coach intervened, and Herro was seen yelling at Adebayo while being escorted out by security. Both players subsequently left the scene. The altercation took place as both players were in Las Vegas for the start of the NBA’s Summer League.
According to reports, Adebayo’s confrontation stemmed from comments Herro allegedly posted on an alternate Instagram account, which included questioning Adebayo’s defensive performance and salary. Herro was traded to Milwaukee last month as part of a significant deal involving Giannis Antetokounmpo, ending his seven seasons as Adebayo’s teammate in Miami.
The Heat organization has acknowledged awareness of the incident but declined to offer further comment. Herro also refused to comment when approached by reporters. Adebayo, 28, has been a cornerstone for the Heat since being drafted in 2017, earning multiple All-Defensive team selections. Herro, who averaged 20.5 points last season, is returning to his home state of Wisconsin with the Bucks.
