Na Hyun-soo Shines as Korea Tops Indonesia in Exhibition Match
The South Korean women’s national volleyball team, currently ranked 30th globally, secured a come-from-behind victory against Indonesia (ranked 60th) in their first exhibition match. The team, led by coach Cha Sang-hyun, triumphed 3-1 in sets (23-25, 25-20, 25-13, 25-15) at the Jecheon Gymnasium in Chungcheongbuk-do on the 23rd.
This match was the initial contest in a three-game series against Indonesia, designed to evaluate player performance in preparation for upcoming international competitions. These include the East Asian Championship next month, the Asian Championship in September, and the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Na Hyun-soo of Hyundai Engineering & Construction distinguished herself as the top scorer for the Korean side, contributing 12 points, including two service aces. Other key offensive contributors included Lee Da-hyun from Heungkuk Life with 11 points, and Jung Yoon-ju (Heungkuk Life) and Yuk Seo-young (IBK Industrial Bank) each adding 10 points.
A significant factor in Korea’s win was their dominant performance in blocking, where they outpaced Indonesia with a 14-6 advantage.
