Lee Jung-hoo Blasts Sixth Homer, Recovers .300 Average in Giants Victory
San Francisco, California – Lee Jung-hoo, the "Grandson of the Wind," exploded with a three-run homer and a double on June 26th, helping the Giants to a win over the Los Angeles Angels at Oracle Park. This powerful display ended a 32-day home run drought for Lee and marked his 100th career RBI in Major League Baseball.
Batting sixth and playing right field, Lee went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. This multi-hit performance, his 31st of the season and first since June 18th against Seattle, pushed his batting average back to .302 (109 hits in 361 at-bats) after it had dipped below the mark the previous day.
Lee’s day began with a foul-tip strikeout in the second inning against Angels right-hander Ryan Johnson. However, his bat came alive in the third. With the Giants holding a 2-0 lead and runners on first and second, Lee stepped up and delivered his sixth home run of the season.
This impactful outing showcased Lee’s ability to drive the ball, registering two extra-base hits in the contest. The Giants’ lineup for the game also featured Luis Arraez at second base, Heliot Ramos in left field, Bryce Eldridge as the designated hitter, Rafael Devers at first base, Casey Schmitt at third base, Willi Adames at shortstop, and Drew.
