Kim Dae-han’s Two Home Runs Propel Doosan Past LG, Securing Fourth Place
The Doosan Bears defeated the LG Twins 4-2 on August 31st at Jamsil Stadium, snapping a three-game losing streak against their rivals and reclaiming fourth place in the standings. This victory improves Doosan’s season record to 51 wins, 45 losses, and 3 ties, putting them ahead of the Kia Tigers by winning percentage.

A standout performance came from Doosan’s Kim Dae-han, who hit two home runs and drove in two runs. Playing as the eighth batter and right fielder, Dae-han’s solo shot in the second inning off LG starter Song Seung-gi tied the game, marking his first home run since June 6th of the previous year. He then solidified the win with another solo homer in the seventh inning off reliever Lee Woo-chan. This was Kim Dae-han’s first career multi-home run game since being drafted by Doosan in 2019.

Doosan’s starting pitcher, Jack Logue, earned his fifth win of the season, pitching six innings, allowing three hits and two runs (one earned), while striking out eight and walking two. The Bears’ bullpen, consisting of Kim Jung-woo, Kim Taek-yeon, and Lee Young-ha, closed out the game with one scoreless inning each.

LG initially took the lead in the second inning when Lee Ju-heon hit an RBI double. Doosan then took the lead in the fifth inning with a two-run home run from Park Jun-soon, who, like Kim Dae-han, recorded multiple hits and two RBIs. Despite LG narrowing the gap to 3-2 in the sixth inning due to an error, they failed to capitalize on a late-game opportunity in the eighth, as two batters struck out against Doosan’s Kim Taek-yeon.
