The Hanwha Eagles have officially brought in left-handed pitcher Bruce Zimmerman as their newest foreign player. The club announced the acquisition today, with Zimmerman joining the team after the Eagles parted ways with pitcher Wilkel Hernandez.
Zimmerman’s deal is valued at a maximum of $440,000. This includes a signing bonus of $70,000, a base salary of $300,000, and an additional $70,000 in incentives. The pitcher, listed at 190cm, is known for his strong command and ability to work the corners of the plate.
The 29-year-old southpaw, who some reports list at 31, throws a fastball that typically sits in the mid-140 km/h range. He also employs a diverse arsenal of pitches, including a slider, forkball, sinker, cutter, and curveball. Zimmerman reportedly expressed a long-standing desire to play in Korea.
