Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has turned down a new contract offer from the club, a decision that comes amidst significant interest from several prominent Premier League teams. The England Under-21 international’s refusal to agree to new terms has intensified speculation about his future, though Bournemouth remains resolute in its stance that he is not for sale.
The Cherries had prioritized securing Scott, who joined from Bristol City in 2023 for £25 million, to fresh terms this summer. However, despite multiple offers since discussions began late last season and a proposal that has been on the table for at least two months, the 22-year-old has indicated he is unwilling to commit. He currently has two years remaining on his existing contract.
Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester City are among the clubs reportedly keen on Scott. Arsenal previously had an approach for the midfielder rejected by Bournemouth in June. The south coast club has publicly and privately insisted to Scott and interested parties that he will remain, even if it means playing out his current deal. This firm position is consistent with their broader strategy to retain key players, including Junior Kroupi and Rayan, who are also attracting interest.
Bournemouth is under no financial pressure to sell, having secured Europa League qualification and generated substantial income from player sales last summer. They have consistently rejected approaches for Scott, despite talk of an £80 million valuation. The club expects Scott to be part of their squad next season, regardless of whether he signs a new agreement.
